The Vermont Democratic Party voted to endorse the re-election of Congressman Peter Welch in Randolph on Saturday. As she moved for his endorsement, Windsor County Chair Dr. Ann Raynolds praised Peter's willingness to listen. John Burgess of Lamoille County seconded the motion for endorsement, saying that the future of his six children and fourteen grandchildren gives him 20 reasons to support Peter's re-election.

After meeting with Committee members before the formal meeting, Congressman Welch gave formal remarks and asked the Committee for their endorsement. Peter thanked the State Committee for their support in 2006 and for their work on behalf of all Democrats. He praised their willingness to hold him accountable for his decisions and for their support as he continues to bring their voice to Washington.
